We are approaching the final days of August, filled with music, film, traditional festivities and sports, all part of the Cultural Summer in Podstrana.

On Monday, 24 August at 09:00 p.m. at Cindro Summer Residence, we can look forward to an evening of evergreen melodies and Italian canzone with Duo Aspalathos, Ksenija Varvodić Periš and Jurica Karuza.

On Tuesday, 25 August at 08:30 p.m. in Sveti Martin, at Porat, the youngest visitors can enjoy an open-air cinema featuring the animated film “Tom & Jerry: The Forbidden Compass“.

Thursday, 27 August is reserved for Sound of Summer Nights. From 20:30, Vedran Roguljić will perform at Strožanac Beach, offering an evening of music and a relaxed atmosphere by the sea.

A special programme awaits us on Friday, 28 August, when Perun Full Moon will be held below the Church of St. George on Vršina. From 08:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy an evening filled with klapa singing and popular music, featuring performances by Klapa Praska, Klapa Sveti Florijan, Porat Quartet, Female Klapa Kurjože, Petra Perišić and Đani Stipaničev. The organisers are the Municipality of Podstrana, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Podstrana and the Žrvanj Association.

On Saturday, 29 August from 09:00 p.m., the traditional Fishermen’s Evening will be held at Grljevac Beach, organised by the Local Committee, offering an opportunity to socialise and enjoy an atmosphere that best heralds the end of summer.

The Cultural Summer in Podstrana continues in September as well. On Sunday, 20 September, the Swimming Marathon, the 5th round of PLOV “Adio lito” [Goodbye summer], will be held at Strožanac Beach (Ženska pravda), with two disciplines: 1,250 metres and 2,500 metres. The organisers are the Municipality of Podstrana, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Podstrana, SUNG 7 and KDP Ng7.
