On Saturday, July 4, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM, the Reading Room in Gornja Podstrana will host the traditional Olive Oil and Fritters Festival, an event dedicated to olive growing, local gastronomy, and customs that have been preserved in Podstrana for generations.
Visitors can look forward to an evening of socializing, authentic local flavors, and the promotion of olive oil as one of the most valuable products of the Dalmatian region. The event celebrates the rich olive-growing heritage of Podstrana and highlights the importance of the olive tree in the life and identity of the local community.
The musical program will feature performances by the Croatian Catholic Music Society Podstrana and Kvartet Porat, adding to the festive atmosphere of the evening.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Podstrana, the Podstrana Tourist Board, and the Olive Growers Association “Toć”.
