Towards the northeast, Podstrana is fully sheltered by the slopes of Perun hill (Križ 533 m), which abound in the remains of Illyrian culture, the traces of pre-Slavic mythology and mediaeval chapels and graveyards that are commonly decorated with Antique fragments.
An abundance of adventure and recreation is guaranteed by the numerous scenic walking and hiking trails that cover the hill, together with its many cycling trails, the climbing area on the southern rock of Veliki Perun and the mountain lodge.
The flora and fauna of this small coastal massif is relatively well preserved and, together with the cultural and historical heritage of the area, creates a truly one-of-a-kind landscape.
