Every year during June, July and August, a wide variety of cultural events are organised in Podstrana as part of the Summer of Culture. Some of these events – for example, poetry evenings – are events of national importance.

The Summer of Culture in Podstrana promotes the finest works in the area of entertainment, culture and the arts from both Croatia and abroad and presents them to audiences in a cosy local environment.

The Cindro summer residence in Strožanac and the open-air stage near the building of the Reading Room (˝Čitovnica˝) located in the heart of the eco-ethno village of Gornja Podstrana have already welcomed an entire host of authors and performers, both when it comes to rising stars and more well-known names.
